My impression is that Dr. Anez has a well organized office and is an excellent surgeon wtih a good track record. I have to go to his office every other week for the first 3 months. He was very up front about the risks of surgery but said he had a very low complication rate. He requires his patients to have a very thorough physical evaluation before surgery so there are no surprises.

Dr. Anez and his staff are great. I was scared to death when I first walked into the office, but Dr. Anez put me right at ease. We discussed everything, and he made sure that I understood everything about the surgery. He also said to take as much time as I needed and to call or email him with any questions. Sally, who is my dietitian, is the best. She really knows what is going on with you before you can tell her. Sally always makes sure that I am keeping on top of things. There are times where I forget some of the questions or things I want to discuss with her, but can email her and she responds quickly. Thank you to both of you. You both have changed my life forever.

So Far Dr. Anez is great very laid back and easy going which i like I cannot stand doctors that are all business too uptight for me :) Dr. Anez is just the oppisite knows exactly what hes talking about but puts you at ease knowing you are in extremely qualified hands!

I had a very professional doctor & staff. Truthful. Dr. Anez & staff are very efficient. Aftercare is everything. Support group is well established. These Inova Hospital people are very exact in what is needed. The service was so good that I went home smiling EVERYTIME during pre-operation. I'm not accustomed to dealing with "nice" folk (smile). And they were just everywhere that I went in the hospital! The surgery risks were explained but things went poorly on day of surgey for me. (significant blood lost, breathing/asthma difficulties, & a urine infection on last hospital days) My personal health caused a lot of problems but the hospital saved my life. They got me through a very difficlut time as I spent 2 days in ICU trying to recover. Remember, what happened to me was not "normal". Other patients for Dr. Anez went through the same surgey with no problems, leaving Inova within 2-3 days. I highly recommend the Inova hospital system. They will leave no stone unturned until you are well enough to leave. I owe them my life. I thank God I went to this hospital. I was scheduled to have the surgery with another doctor/another hospial. I KNOW they would not have been able to give me the quality care to help me recover. I thank God my insurance denied to cover me at the other hospital since it was not "certified". Dr. Anez's Bedside manner was excellent. He kept a good eye on me. He also had every appropriate MD/specialists to help me as well (Pulmonary, Hematology, Cardiac care). They even let me work with the dietician to develop my own meal prefences for EVERY meal. I never had to wait for anything!!! When I called for help, I got help. They made a very nasty situation the best it could be. One nurse, Angela, stayed with me through the 2 surgeries on my first day. She was by my side every time I awakened. I thought she was my dream. She brought me comfort. I'm home now after 6 days in the hospital. I'm doing fine with no further complications, no pain, breathing normally, eating as expected, and beginning to walk around more. I get tired easily but less every day. I'm alreay 21 pounds down & counting!!! Thank-you Dr. Anez & Inova Hospital-fairfax, VA.

I have met with Dr. Anez once and he was kind and informative. His staff is kind and helpful. Dr. Anez surrounds himself with staff and medical associates that work on answering all your questions and help you make this scary emotional venture easier.

Dr. Anez was very pleasant and quite informative about the procedure he'd be performing. His staff does a wonderful job in helping you through the administrative process. I came to Dr. Anez through the recommendation of my best friend who just happened to stumble on his office. We were planning to have the surgery at the same time under a different physician but the staff was so rude and not very helpful. My friend started shopping around for another surgeon and I'm so glad that she bumped into Dr. Anez's office. It was the best accident ever.

Dr. Anez has been wonderful. Easy to work with and he has done this procedure over 1600 times. His staff are excellent and he works with a Bariatric Center of Excellence at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, VA which is one of the best places to have bariatric surgery.

Comments About Dr. Anez:
I felt confident that I had chosen one of the best surgeons for my surgery and my first impression during my consulf didn't sway me from this. He has a very organized staff set up that are very knowledgeable and good at what they do and they give you a lot of verbal support and pats on the back. My surgery and recovery went very well. My scar is in the upper part of my abdomin and is only 3 1/2 inches long and it looks pretty darn good. I am presently 6 weeks post op and have nothing but good experiences with him and his office. I also love his bed side manner with his twikle in his eye, his big smile, and the little strut in his walk. =) You can tell he really believes in what he is doing.
